Hgv Class 1 Driver

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods across various locations. This role requires proficiency in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles, and a passion for providing outstanding service as a delivery driver.

Duties

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road, promoting safety at all times.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the lorry.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. (Fridges or Curtain trailers)
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and clients.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism on the road.

The role is general class 1 trunking work for a multi billion pound food and beverage company. Majority of work is from production depots to RDC's full loads.

Start times between 06.00 - 16.00 so must be flexible. Tuesday - Friday with optional overtime available.

Role is 1/2 weeks training after interview, will then be ongoing or ad hoc cover as and when you're free.
